I created Alison Pritt Willow (Instagram: alison_pritt_willow) in 2014 after being made reduntant from my previous job. First, I taught myself basketry via two books I can highly recommend:  The Complete Book of Baskets and Basketry by Dorothy Wright, and The Complete Book of Basketry Techniques by Sue Gabriel & Sally Goymer.  I then started getting asked if I could make various other things until now I make a broad cross section of baskets, scuptures and giant hearts and circles for weddings and events. I very quickly brought on board my twin sister Kathryn in Oxfordshire and together we grew the business and our client base. Kathryn (Instagram wildabout_willow) and I work as a team using locally sourced and commercially (sustainably) grown willow from Somerset.  All of our products are handwoven by us, we also hand roll and weld most of our own metalwork to add strength to our larger products. 

 

Our customers range from shop, event and wedding design companies to florists, garden centres and of course the general public wanting to create a beautiful natural centrepiece for the home, special occasion or as a gift.  We've been lucky enough to create wreaths for Westminster Abbey, The National Trust, The Repair Shop, Fortnum & Mason, Daylesford, Covent Garden and many more.
